While some universities may occasionally offer a first-year tuition or accommodation waiver, these are rare and the competition is extremely high. No scholarships are offered for the entire 6-year duration of the MBBS program. > Authentic scholarships in China are merit-based and typically awarded starting from the second or third year onwards. They are granted based on your actual performance on campus—including your academic grades, behavior, attendance, and participation in extracurricular activities. In China, there are two categories of universities for medical studies:

• MOE Listed Universities: These 45 universities are officially authorized by the Ministry of Education to teach in 100% English. They clearly mention "English Medium" on admission letters. Fees are generally higher, and students typically need to pass HSK-4 by the 5th or 6th year for their degree.

• Non-Listed Universities: These are often the preferred choice for Pakistani students because they are more budget-friendly. While they may not officially state "English Medium" on admission letters, they still conduct classes in English. However, they have stricter language requirements, usually requiring students to pass HSK-4 by the end of the first year (with some exceptions requiring HSK-3 by the end of the first year).

I recommend choosing based on your budget and your willingness to learn the language early. Both paths lead to a recognized degree, but the Non-Listed path requires more dedication to Chinese language in Year 1.
